VELVET REVOLVER Guitarist Says Album Is Done, Holds Off On Announcing 'Real' Title

December 23, 2003

VELVET REVOLVER guitarist Slash (ex-GUNS N' ROSES) has told the webmaster of his official fan site, www.snakepit.org, that the title of the group's much-anticipated debut CD is not "Comrades", as has been previously reported, and that the "real" title is so "supercool" that he wanted to wait before an official announcement was made.

The album, which was produced by Josh Abraham (LIMP BIZKIT, STAIND) and mixed by Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, WHITE ZOMBIE, LINKIN PARK, SLAYER, SEPULTURA),was mastered last week in New York City and has been handed over to RCA Records, who are scheduled to release it on April 27, 2004. The mastering session was attended by the entire band minus vocalist Scott Weiland (ex-STONE TEMPLE PILOTS),who is currently completing a six-month residential drug rehabilitation program in Pasadena, Ca.

Weiland was allowed out last month to complete vocals for the album, although reports that he still had one song to finish were not confirmed.

VELVET REVOLVER's lineup is rounded out by ex-GUNS N'ROSES members Duff McKagan on bass and Matt Sorum on drums, along with guitarist Dave Kushner.
